Who's Zooming Who?

Posted by Rob Mineault on

With so many people practicing social distancing and companies having their employees work from home, you may have heard the word "Zoom" thrown around a lot. So much in fact that you may start hearing people use the term "Zooming" much like they now use the term "Googling".

So just what is Zoom?

Well, simply put, Zoom is a cloud based audio, video, chat, and webinar conferencing platform that is available on a host of different devices including mobile, desktops, and phones. It is particularly well known for its versatility and accessibility as well, making it ideal for those needing an accessible interface. It allows people to interact with each other remotely, whether it's friends, family, co-workers, or employees. This makes the prospect of telecommunting a bit more manageable.

Many companies have now moved to using it to host teleconferences among employees who are now working from home, more still are using them to offer online webinars to clients to replace in-person training sessions. It's also quickly becoming popular with individuals as well, using it to connect with friends and loved ones remotely.

Ok, so where do I get it?

You can download the Zoom Client here for a variety of different platforms. iOS and Android versions are also available on their respective stores.

Now that you have it, we have included a useful keyboard command guide below. Get Zooming!
