Peg Slate

The Peg Slate is a redesigned, low-tech learning tool that builds foundational braille writing skills by teaching mirrored braille and preparing students to use a traditional slate and stylus. The updated design features 12 large braille cells with movable yellow pegs representing braille dots.

It serves low vision and tactile readers of all ages and levels of braille knowledge, as well as sighted users learning braille. Uses include teaching slate and stylus techniques, making quick notes, practicing the alphabet and spelling words, introducing braille contractions, playing games, and recording answer choices during group oral tests.
