My Sight Kit
My Sight is designed to teach students the foundational concepts and terminology of eye anatomy, how the visual system functions, and how impairments in this system can lead to vision loss. This program helps participants build essential communication skills to effectively advocate for their visual needs with teachers, peers, family members, healthcare providers, and the public.
Designed for K–12 students of all abilities and at every stage of vision, My Sight fosters awareness, advocacy, and understanding. With this kit, students will explore the structure of the eye, the path of light through the visual system, and common eye conditions using the Eye Conditions Guide and Eye Terminology Toolkit.
In addition to foundational science, My Sight emphasizes the development of self-advocacy skills. Students learn how to describe their individual visual abilities and needs by creating personalized Vision Ability Statements. Whether at school, at home, or in future workplaces, this program empowers students with the confidence and tools to communicate effectively about their own vision.
Note: The My Sight puzzles are sold separately.
